Betty's Watercolour "For love of winter #3" was featured twice recently in two Art Groups in Fine Art America: "Beautiful Picturesque Landscape" and "The Art of Watercolour". Both groups featured selected works that are of high standard and appeal.

Betty was awarded as a Signature Member of the Toronto Watercolour Society in June 2019, after her work successfully got into 6 juried exhibitions organized by the Society. It is an honour to be recognized by this most prestigious Watercolour Society in Toronto which was set up 35 years ago.

Betty's mixed media "Flow" won an Honourable Mention Award in the recent 2013 Light Time and Space International Abstract Competition, Painting Category. Her painting was among the top ten works selected. This is the second consecutive year that Betty's paintings got into the Top Ten in this annual competition that attracted 886 entries from 36 countries.

Top Ten Best – Painting Category
Betty’s painting “Chasing Dream #1” won 7th place in the Painting Category. This is one of the two paintings that Betty did in empathy for the 2014 Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong. The painting is in watercolour mainly, with some acrylic on canvas. The warm and bright tone depicts hope and strength for the future of her birthplace.
The gallery received 1073 entries from 29 different countries from around the world, including Argentina, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kuala Lumpur, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Panama, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, St. Maarten, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Wales. In addition, the gallery received entries from 41 different states.

Betty's Award winning paintings will be shown in the Luminosity 2016 Art show held at McKay Art Centre between May 11 - 15, together with wonderful original works by other artists of the Bayview Watercolour Society.

LOCATION : Boynton House, 1300 Elgin Mills Road East, in Richmond Green Park, Richmond Hill
Betty will be participating in will be holding an art exhbition in Boynton House held by the Bayview Watercolour Society as part of the Culture Days Event. There will be a lovely display of paintings, including watercolour, acrylic and mixed media by local artists. There will be outdoor activities during the 3-day event, including artist demonstrations, a children’s program and a Mandela workshop. Entrance is FREE. Enjoy a lovely weekend seeing some beautiful works in a heritage setting.

In the 2014 Luminosity Juried Art Show organized by the Bayview Watercolour Society, Betty's painting "Red Abundance" won the Best Watercolor Award. The painting, which depicts apples on trees, was sold the next day to a walk-in visitor to the Show that took place at the McKay Art Gallery in Unionville, Ontario from in May . Betty was delighted to recieve the certificate of recognition for Signature Membership of the Bayview Watercolour Society from David Barrow, Mayor of Richmond Hill, Greater Toronto Area, in September 2012 at their Impression Show held at Boynton House. Betty's work has recieved numerous awards in past juried shows held by the Society which has now entered its 11th year.
